Today we took the boys to CoCo Key’s in Newark Ohio. The one hour 45 minute drive wasn’t too bad, better than expected. Light traffic and little construction.
We arrived around 12:00 and stayed about 3 hours. We were lucky enough to find a Groupon for $75 that included admission for four, a large pizza and four drinks. That saved us $52. Admission for four is normally $100, $2.50 for a pop and $17 for a large 14″ pizza.
The park is definitely geared towards the younger kids. It has a large play area in the middle with a few things on the side. There are three “adult” and under water slides, Two for people and one for tubes. They have at least one 18 and older hot tub. There were not many tubes to use, I guess they had just enough to get by but more would have been nice so one didn’t have to wait so long and search for one. The lazy river is hilarious if you have ever been to one of the larger parks. The whole place is pretty small but the lazy river or whatever they call it is only a few hundred feet, I’m guessing 200-500 feet in a small loop. They do have lockers for the low low price of $10 for a small and $13 for a large, our was good until 10pm and let us open is several times so not terrible. Now they only take correct change or credit cards but I was unable to use mine.
Everyone had some fun. Nikki and I spent a lot of time going down the slides and a few times in the hot tub. I saw Robert go down the slide twice and he was a ghost except for his 10 trips around the lazy river. Landon was all over the place.
Interestingly as soon as we walked in the doors we ran in to Dwayne Trull the only other 13Fox, FISTER I have ever met in or from Ohio. Check out he website at http://www.endthe22now.org it looks like he has some good things going in support of our brothers in arms.
