0400 the alarm went off with its gentle tones starting my return to the gym. It has been well over a month since the last time I had stepped into the gym. It had become too easy to lay in bed or to even get up and scroll through Facebook rather than to drive to the gym.
I had hit a plateau and could not loose anymore wieght and that really got to me and all it took was skipping one morning to set the chain in motion. One day became a week and so on as “I’ll go tomorrow ” with tomorrow never coming.
So last night I made a plan and timeline making the start date this morning. Nikki always gives me shit about my time lines and my planing but thats is how I get things done. I’m sure that comes from my 7 years active duty in the army where most of the time we had a fairly structured time line for the day, week or year. Even though some were completely ridiculous such as formation for Manifest at 0200 and manifest at 0600. Regardless of how ridiculous some were they gave a clear picture of what you were expected to do or accomplish in a given time period.
I find need that structure, its just to easy to watch TV or surf the net. So today was the first day back to the gym and it hurt a little, I was a little weaker but it felt good. There is a long hard road ahead to keep on track and make a new habit to better health.
