NM8B Radio Room.

I have decided to give DMR a try so I ordered an anytone AT168UV. I received it this past week, and it was an experience to get it working. Working is relative as I have not made any contacts but I have been able to connect through my hot spot to Talk groups and maybe a repeater. I have so much to learn. I think I may check out the local club again and see if I can get some help with it. I did get the 168 on an outside antenna, so that may allow me to get into one of the nets in Piqua.

I think the wife is finally going to let me put a radio in “her” car, I think the HT bouncing around has finally annoyed her enough lol. We use it whenever we go out so it only makes sense, to me.

I have also decided that MeshCore may be interesting. I haven’t done anything since our router mesh many years ago that never took off. It appears that it should have good range based on modeling, but not enough. I am going to mount a solar BBS(Room Server) and Repeater on my tower. It is possible I may be able to reach the one lonely node in Troy, but I have no clue what their set up is.
