Friday I received two Heltec V4’s and flashed them for MeshTastic, I was completely surprised with the results. There are a lot more nodes than I expected. Within minutes I was seeing nodes populate. I moved one the second story and it only got better. I seem to have coverage everywhere I went so far, tomorrow we will see how it is at work. I have yet to see anyone else on MeshCore.
Future plans
I have decided that MT is the way to go for now, I am not abandoning MC, I will continue to work on building that out. So now I have began researching to build my own solar nodes for both. I want to get something on the tower for MeshTastic too, then I may try and get some family to support some nodes. More to follow as I have time to add. I may add a page specifically for the mesh node build.
